Katie is a Research Associate Professor and Clinical Psychologist at the Department of Psychological Medicine, University of Otago Christchurch, New Zealand. She leads a research stream investigating novel psychosocial and cognitive treatments for mood disorders. She has a specific interest in understanding and treating hormonal and cognitive aspects of mood disorders in women. Katie has obtained $4.6 million from 18 research grants and has authored over 80 publications. Katie chairs the Australasian Society for Bipolar and Depressive Disorders and is an Deputy Editor for BJPsych Open. In 2023, she was awarded a ‘Young Rising Stars in Cognitive Remediation’ award by Prof Alice Medalia, in recognition of her important contributions to the field of cognitive remediation.
